PPSU Filament by 3D4MAKERS - 1.75mm 500g
PPSU (Polyphenylsulfone) is a high performance thermoplastic offering better impact resistance and chemical resistance than PEI. Although not as high performance as PEEK, PPSU is less expensive and with its high chemical and heat resistance, for many manufacturing applications, PPSU is more than sufficient.
PPSU is also sterilizable and has a heat deflection temperature of 189°C and resists common acids and bases over a broad temperature range.
Applications include: aerospace, aircraft, automotive, dental, medical and surgical instruments. The PPSU filament is based on the technology of Solvay.
PPSU requires a higher print temperature than average filament. Depending on your printer it should be 360 - 400°C with a heated bed temperature of above 140°C.
Also, compared to other materials, PPSU can be rather difficult to print.
With PPSU it is important to:
- Dry out the material pre-processing at 120c for 4 hours.
- Make sure that you obtain proper crystallization in your 3D printed parts.
- Make sure that you have sufficient control over your entire build chamber temperature. If only your nozzle and build plate can be temperature controlled it will be difficult for you to obtain good results with PPSU.
The 3D4MAKERS PPSU filament has unique properties because it does not come into contact with water during the production process and is directly packaged in a vacuum packaging. These properties make PPSU particularly suitable for usage in FDM/FFF 3D printers. The material has an excellent adhesion between layers which results in great improvement of the impact resistance, strength, durability and the printing process.
